About Georgetown Waterfront Park
Georgetown Waterfront Park stretches along the Potomac River from 31st Street NW to the Key Bridge, completed in 2011 as part of a long-running community effort. It links to 225 miles of parkland running from Cumberland, Maryland, to Mount Vernon, Virginia, and connects to the Capital Crescent Trail. The park's notable design features include a contemplative labyrinth at its western end, a seasonal fountain at the Wisconsin Avenue waterfront plaza, and rain gardens. A dedicated car-free path lets cyclists, skaters, and pedestrians take in views of the Potomac, Key Bridge, and Theodore Roosevelt Island. Managed by the National Park Service (as part of Rock Creek Park), the park is open around the clock and free to visit, with restrooms, seating, and access for kayak and canoe launches.
