About Tribune Tower
Standing majestically along Chicago's Magnificent Mile, the Tribune Tower is an iconic example of Neo-Gothic architecture. Its distinctive crown and intricately detailed facade make it a notable landmark in the city's skyline, offering a glimpse into early 20th-century architectural grandeur. Completed in 1925, the tower was the result of an international design competition launched by the Chicago Tribune. Its most unique feature is the collection of over 150 stones embedded in its exterior walls, gathered from famous historical sites and structures worldwide by Tribune correspondents. These include fragments from the Great Wall of China, the Parthenon, and Westminster Abbey, among many others. While the building is now primarily residential, its exterior remains a popular attraction for visitors. The ground floor often features commercial spaces, and its strategic location on Michigan Avenue makes it easily accessible for architectural appreciation and photography.
