Union Square

About Union Square

Union Square has been a site of protest and public gathering since the 1860s, with statues of Washington, Lincoln and Gandhi around its edges. The Greenmarket brings roughly 140 regional farmers and producers to the north plaza on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and the surrounding streets are dense with shops and restaurants.
