About Grand Central Terminal

Opened in 1913 and saved from demolition in the 1970s, Grand Central handles more than 750,000 people a day across 44 platforms. The Main Concourse is crowned by a turquoise ceiling painted with a backwards zodiac, and the lower level holds the whispering gallery outside the Oyster Bar plus a food hall and market.
