Federal Hall

About Federal Hall

The original hall hosted the first Congress and George Washington's 1789 inauguration before being demolished in 1812. The 1842 Customs House that replaced it is one of the city's finest Greek Revival buildings, and now serves as a free National Memorial with the inauguration Bible, the balcony stone Washington stood on, and exhibits on the Bill of Rights.
