About Carnegie Hall

Funded by Andrew Carnegie and opened with Tchaikovsky conducting, the hall's three auditoriums have hosted everyone from Mahler and Toscanini to Billie Holiday and The Beatles. The 2,804-seat Stern Auditorium is the main stage; the Rose Museum on the first tier is free, and behind-the-scenes tours run most weekdays in season.
