About The Neon Museum
The Neon Museum preserves and exhibits iconic neon signs from Las Vegas history. Established with support from the Las Vegas City Council in 1996, the museum began by re-installing old signage in downtown Las Vegas. Many signs originated from the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO), which had stored old signs before the museum acquired its own land in 2000. Tours of the "Neon Boneyard" began in 2001, initially by appointment. The former La Concha Motel lobby was donated and moved to the museum site in 2006, becoming its visitor center. The museum officially opened to the general public on October 27, 2012, no longer requiring appointments. Its collection features over 200 signs, with plans for relocation to a larger site announced in 2024.
