About Nevada State Railroad Museum, Boulder City
This railroad museum is an agency of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. Its campus is approximately one-mile long and includes a visitor center, outdoor exhibits, and a heritage railroad, along with a 7.5-inch gauge live steam railroad. The museum campus occupies the former Boulder City rail yard, and the heritage railroad operates on the historic Boulder Branch Line. Both the rail yard and the branch line were originally constructed to support building activities at the Hoover Dam. The State of Nevada acquired the tracks and right-of-way from Union Pacific Railroad in 1985.
