About The Big Apple Coaster
Opened in 1997, The Big Apple Coaster is notable for being the only operating roller coaster in North America by the Japanese manufacturer TOGO. The ride travels along a 4,777-foot track, featuring a 180-foot lift hill, a 76-foot first drop, and another 144-foot drop, alongside a standard vertical loop and a dive loop. The ride's trains were updated in 2021 with softer vest restraints. Initially known as Manhattan Express, then The Roller Coaster, it was renamed The Big Apple Coaster in 2013. The coaster introduced a virtual reality option in 2018.
